0:00Hello lovely students and welcome back
0:02to English with Lucy. I am going to make
0:05a bold claim. You need more speaking
0:08practice. You do. It's true. How do I
0:11know this? Well, anyone learning a
0:15foreign language should practice
0:17speaking regularly, ideally every day.
0:21But let's face it, that's not always
0:24easy. time constraints, location
0:27limitations, money, scheduling conflicts
0:30with tutors, and sometimes just the
0:33anxiety of speaking with another person.
0:35All of this makes speaking daily a real
0:39challenge. Today, I'm going to solve
0:41this for you. I will share four amazing
0:46self-study speaking plans that will
0:48eradicate these problems and will
0:51transform your English faster than any
0:53method you've tried before. These plans
0:56use Langua, an incredibly powerful AI
1:00conversation practice app. When I tried
1:03Langua for the first time, I loved it so
1:05much I invested in it. So technically,
1:08I'm sponsoring myself here. Throughout
1:10this lesson, you will see exactly why
1:12this app is revolutionary. And yeah, I
1:15know there are loads of tools claiming
1:17to be AI powered, but so many of them
1:20fall short. Oh, and did I mention that
1:22you can chat with me on Langua? We've
1:25created an AI Lucy clone and she will
1:28teach you English. She will practice
1:30conversation with you. Langua genuinely
1:32delivers results. The best thing is that
1:34you can try it for free. You can scan
1:37the QR code there or click the link in
1:40the description box. It's really
1:41important that you create an account on
1:43the website first, then you can download
1:47and log into the app. You can try it out
1:49for free. The free plan has a daily
1:52limit. If you want to upgrade to a pro
1:54plan, you could save 20%. Just use the
2:00Right, let's dive into the four
2:02gamechanging study plans. The first one,
2:06a book club in your pocket. Transform
2:10your reading into the ultimate
2:12conversation practice. And by the way,
2:15if you're not already reading regularly
2:17to improve your English, consider this
2:20your friendly but forceful reminder.
2:22Daily reading is one of the best habits
2:24you can develop. Now, instead of reading
2:27silently and forgetting most of what you
2:29read, this technique turns every chapter
2:32into an exciting discussion. with my AI
2:36clone on Langua. If you want to try it
2:38out, you'll build sophisticated
2:40vocabulary and deepen your understanding
2:43of what you're reading all at the same
2:45time. Here's what we'll do. Choose any
2:48book you love, whether it's a graded
2:50reader, a classic novel, or contemporary
2:53fiction. After finishing a chapter, open
2:56up Langua and tell your AI partner what
3:00you've just read. For newer books, give
3:02a quick summary to help the AI
3:04understand the context. Then prompt
3:07something like this. I've just finished
3:10chapter 3 of Pride and Prejudice where
3:13Elizabeth really clashes with Mr. Darcy.
3:16Let's have a book club conversation
3:19about her reaction. Ask me thoughtful
3:22questions and challenge my ideas. That's
3:25brilliant timing. That early class
3:28really sets up everything that follows,
3:30doesn't it? With this simple approach,
3:32your AI instantly becomes the best book
3:35club partner you've ever had. You can
3:37discuss themes, analyze characters, or
3:40explore anything that interests you. As
3:43you chat, you can save new vocabulary
3:46that catches your attention. Langua
3:48makes this incredibly easy. For example,
3:51tolerable. Add it to my vocabulary
3:53there. Another valuable feature is that
3:56Langua gives you automatic realtime
3:59corrections. Just make sure you have the
4:01autocorrect option activated in your
4:04chat settings. I recommend written
4:06corrections so it doesn't mess with the
4:08flow of the conversation. Though many
4:10students love the verbal corrections
4:13where the AI gently corrects you out
4:15loud during the chat. You can also go
4:18back and look at your corrections at any
4:20time. It's amazing. Now, if you want to
4:23take this even further, try immersive
4:26roleplay in cool mode. You change to
4:29cool mode in your chat settings. We'll
4:32try cool mode with Adam this time. Step
4:35directly into your book's world by
4:37prompting something like this.
4:39Hey Lucy, how's it going?
4:40I'm reading Harry Potter. Let's role
4:42play. You're Ron and I'm Harry right
4:45after my name was pulled from the goblet
4:48Lo me, this is mental. How do you think
4:51you'll manage the tasks ahead? We'll
4:53have to stick together and keep focused
4:57He got right into character, didn't he?
4:59If you enjoy this exercise, you can
5:01create a custom prompt using the custom
5:04option under language roleplay section.
5:07Do a role play custom. This roleplay
5:10approach is particularly powerful
5:12because it forces you out of your
5:13comfort zone. It challenges you to use
5:16vocabulary you probably wouldn't produce
5:18in most everyday conversations. And
5:21language cool mode is a gamecher. It
5:23makes conversations feel natural. So,
5:26it's perfect for practicing while
5:27walking or doing the housework. So, why
5:30is this method so effective? Well, your
5:32AI partner gives you completely
5:34personalized discussion time, focusing
5:37on precisely the themes and characters
5:40that interest you most. You'll never
5:41have to wait your turn or feel rushed to
5:44move on, and you can explore ideas at
5:47whatever depth excites you. This isn't
5:49just reading. This is next level English
5:51learning that makes literature come
5:53alive. Now, let's move on to our next
5:56plan. It still involves reading, but if
5:59you're not into reading novels, then
6:01this one's for you. It's the daily news
6:03debate. Our second study plan transforms
6:07current events into dynamic speaking
6:09practice. This will build your critical
6:11thinking skills and expand your
6:14political and social vocabulary. Here is
6:17how it works. Each morning, choose an
6:19interesting article from your favorite
6:21news site. Now, I personally love using
6:24the BBC, but any reliable news source is
6:27perfect. You can even choose news
6:29websites specifically designed for
6:31language learners. And here's a little
6:32inside secret. Later this year, Langua
6:36will actually provide news articles
6:38directly in the app with a dedicated
6:40news chat feature. But for now, this
6:43method that I'm about to show you gives
6:45you complete control over the topics you
6:47want to discuss. Next, copy and paste
6:50your chosen article into Langua using
6:53the import content feature on the web
6:56app. Just click my imports and then
6:59select import content. Langua then
7:02creates an interactive document where
7:04you can easily save new vocabulary. If
7:08there's a word or phrase you'd like to
7:09learn, simply tap it. Or for new
7:12phrases, tap and hold the first word and
7:15then tap on the last word of the phrase.
7:18Then select add to vocabulary. You can
7:20review them later with Langu's
7:22flashcards and have a conversation
7:24specifically targeting these new terms.
7:26Another remarkable feature is that
7:29Langua can automatically generate audio
7:32from your uploaded article. This means
7:34you can listen while reading, practicing
7:37pronunciation and shadowing at the same
7:40time. The voices and langua are
7:41impressively authentic, almost like
7:44listening to a podcast. Once you're
7:46comfortable with the article, grab your
7:47phone and head into the have a debate
7:50section on the Langua app. Scroll down
7:52and select custom. Choose a topic. Your
7:55AI conversation partner will greet you
7:57and then you can prompt them with
7:58something like, "I've just read a news
8:00article about why taking your dog to
8:03work is good for your mental health.
8:05Please take the opposite stance." With
8:08that prompt, the AI engages you in a
8:10realistic and lively debate, immediately
8:13correcting your grammar and providing
8:15valuable suggestions when you get stuck.
8:17You can review these corrections in your
8:19chat history whenever you like. I highly
8:22recommend taking quick notes on repeated
8:24mistakes to prevent making them in
8:26future conversations, but you can also
8:28download the PDF summaries of your
8:31corrections. Now, here's what really
8:33takes this study plan to the next level.
8:35You can practice different topics with a
8:37wide variety of accents. Have one of
8:40your British AI conversation partners
8:43discuss topics affecting Europe and then
8:46switch to an American AI conversation
8:48partner for news articles related to
8:50North America. This is something you
8:52absolutely cannot do with an in-person
8:55tutor unless you want to spend loads of
8:58money on different tutors. It's
9:00brilliant for strengthening your
9:02listening skills to understand different
9:04varieties of English. And of course,
9:06don't forget about the cool mode
9:07feature. It really comes to life in this
9:10study plan. Okay, are you ready to start
9:12the next study plan? Passive podcasts to
9:16spontaneous speaking. So, this next plan
9:19brilliantly transforms passive podcast
9:22listening into active speaking practice.
9:25Perfect for boosting your listening
9:27skills and building real conversational
9:30fluency. Here's how you do it. First,
9:32you choose a podcast episode that
9:34interests you. true crime, business,
9:38comedy, science, anything. Anything
9:40you're excited to listen to. If you're
9:42new to podcasts, you can select from
9:44language featured podcasts or search
9:47from any other podcast via the search
9:49bar. Listen to a 5 to 10 minute segment
9:53of the podcast twice. First at a normal
9:56speed and then a slightly slower speed
9:58if needed. If you choose to listen to a
10:00podcast on Langua in the podcast tab,
10:03which I highly recommend you do, you can
10:05generate a transcript directly in
10:08Langua. It's super helpful. Now, it's
10:10speaking practice time. Go to the Langua
10:13app or website and click design my own.
10:17Enter your custom prompt. This is
10:19excellent for practicing regularly on
10:22similar topics. Here's a great prompt
10:26I've just listened to a podcast episode.
10:29Let me summarize the main points. And
10:31then you ask follow-up questions to help
10:33me practice clearly explaining complex
10:36topics. The AI instantly engages you,
10:39offering corrections on grammar and
10:41vocabulary, all while maintaining
10:43natural conversation flow. Here are some
10:46additional prompts to enhance your
10:50I listen to a fantastic podcast episode
10:53about topic. I'll explain the key
10:56points, challenge my understanding with
10:59probing questions, or help me use these
11:02three expressions from today's podcast,
11:04create realistic scenarios where I can
11:07use them naturally, or even act as the
11:09podcast host, and interview me about
11:12today's episode on topic. Ask interview
11:16questions to help me express opinions
11:18clearly. Why does this method work so
11:20brilliantly? because you're engaging
11:22directly with real language from
11:24proficient speakers in genuine
11:26conversations, debates, and discussions.
11:29This realworld practice prepares you far
11:32better than textbook dialogues ever
11:35could. Right, let's move on to our last
11:37study plan. This is natural everyday
11:40conversations. This tackles something
11:42absolutely crucial that so many language
11:45courses overlook. Natural spontaneous
11:47conversations that you have in everyday
11:50life. This is exactly where genuine
11:52confidence and fluency are built. Here's
11:55how you can easily integrate this plan
11:57into your daily routine. Start each
12:00morning with a relaxed 15-minute chat
12:03using prompts that mirror real life
12:06interactions. Simply open Langua, click
12:09chat about anything, and then general
12:12conversation. Then prompt your AI
12:14partner with something natural and
12:16casual like, "Imagine we're two friends
12:18catching up. Ask me about my day, my
12:22plans, and anything interesting I've
12:24done recently." Now, if you feel nervous
12:26about jumping into a conversation, just
12:28tap the light bulb icon after the AI
12:30responds, and you'll see suggested
12:32replies to choose from. It's a gentle
12:34way to build confidence. You can still
12:36speak freely and get corrections, but
12:38you have that safety net when you need
12:41it. And as you become more confident,
12:43you can gradually phase it out. Now, I
12:46strongly recommend giving the AI
12:49specific instructions to enhance your
12:51practice, such as, "Please focus on
12:54natural phrasal verbs and idioms during
12:57our conversations, and please provide
13:00corrections if I use them incorrectly."
13:03This approach helps you learn the
13:04everyday phrases native speakers use,
13:07but instead of isolated exercises, you
13:11learn through natural contextual
13:13conversations. For a fun challenge,
13:15explore the chat with lots of slang
13:18option under chat about anything. This
13:21is ideal if you're at an intermediate
13:23level or higher and want to feel
13:25comfortable with real colloquial
13:27English. Another fantastic exercise is
13:29storytelling. Share your own experiences
13:32and let langua respond naturally, asking
13:35follow-up questions. This will really
13:37build your ability to tell engaging
13:39stories and anecdotes. You could even
13:41try the collaborative stories exercise
13:44under vocab and games where you and the
13:47AI take turns creating a story sentence
13:49by sentence. It's perfect for building
13:52your creativity and spontaneous language
13:54use. Honestly, with Langua, the
13:57conversation possibilities are almost
14:00endless. You have to try it out. You're
14:02going to be mind blown, especially when
14:04you end up talking with my clone. It's a
14:07very surreal experience. Now, these
14:09study plans I've discussed provide a
14:12clear starting point to help you
14:14confidently explore the full potential
14:16of this powerful AI tool. It's just so
14:19much more effective than traditional
14:21self-study methods. You get instant
14:24feedback. This eliminates bad habits.
14:27You're in an anxietyfree environment
14:30which will really accelerate your
14:32progress. And thirdly, it's available
14:3424/7. This will maximize your practice
14:37opportunities. So, here's my suggestion
14:40to you. I want you to set yourself a
14:4230-day challenge. I want you to commit
14:45to just 10 minutes of daily speaking
14:48practice with Langua for 30 days. As I
14:51said, you can try it for free. You need
14:54to create an account on the website
14:56before signing into the app. There's a
14:59daily limit on the free plan. If you
15:00want to upgrade to a pro plan, I can
15:03offer you 20% off with my code EWL20.
15:08The QR code is here or click the link in
15:10the description box. I can't wait to
15:12hear about your experiences in the
15:14comments. I will see you in the next
