0:32parasympathetic nervous system, aka make

0:34you feel relaxed. Reconnecting to nature

0:37is fundamental for our type of future on

0:39this planet.

0:40Cuz planetary health and our health go

0:42hand in hand.

0:44Our ancestors were polyglots of ecology.

0:52To listen was to know. Inattention was

0:55literally life-threatening. For our

0:56entire evolution, listening has been a

0:59big part of our compass.

1:01But now we turn that off.

1:03It's no wonder that we lost our bearing.

1:05See, nature sounds are so important to

1:07us as a species. We evolved not just to

1:09hear the information,

1:11but to have an emotional response to it.

1:14It's probably why music is so powerful

1:16for us. It transcends barriers. Where

1:19words fail, it adds meaning. It

1:21resonates. We're not so neatly separable

1:23from nature.

1:25And listening to it doesn't just tell

1:27you that, makes you feel it.

1:34Being more attentive

1:36to nature's sonic language

1:39might help us better exist with it, cuz

1:41listening requires embodied respect.
