Tesco shoppers spot new Fanta flavour and people are rushing to try it
Fanta fans are thrilled after spotting a brand new variety of the beloved fizzy drink appearing in supermarket aisles.
Whether you're loyal to the classic orange version or favour the more adventurous fruit twist, this soft drink could well become your new go-to choice.
It's Fanta Mango, which has been described as "bright, bubbly, instantly refreshing and great tasting". The product description adds: "Fanta Mango is made with 100% natural flavours, fruit juice and is caffeine free."
Shoppers have been flocking to Tesco to sample the new Fanta variety since an image was uploaded to the popular New Foods UK Facebook page, where they revealed the new addition.
One enthusiastic commenter declared: "This is my new favourite." Meanwhile, another tagged a mate and said: "Ooh, we should try that." And a third added: "Very nice."
The fizzy drink is exclusively available in Tesco branches throughout the UK. It's sold in 330ml cans, 500ml bottles, or larger two litre bottles. So if you fancy trying the new flavour of the popular fizzy drink without purchasing a bigger size, you've got that option.
While the flavour is launching here in the UK, it's already delighted customers' tastebuds around the world. It remains a permanent fixture in South Africa, but was previously discontinued in the US and Japan.
Fanta was created in 1940 by The Coca-Cola Company's German branch. Due to a trade embargo during World War II, Coca-Cola syrup couldn't be imported from the US.
Consequently, the German team created a new beverage using accessible ingredients such as whey and apple pomace. They named it "Fanta," stemming from the German term "Fantasie"
Following WWII, Fanta was withdrawn in Germany but reintroduced during the 1950s, with the legendary orange variety launching in Italy in 1955. It rapidly expanded across the globe as a fruit-flavoured fizzy drink.
Nowadays, Fanta ranks among the world's premier soft drink brands, obtainable in more than 190 nations with upwards of 70 flavours internationally.
Fanta Orange, Lemon and Fruit Twist represent some of the most beloved flavours throughout the UK. Sugar-free and Zero options are also available for consumers to sample.
Nevertheless, various limited edition versions have also appeared through the years. Fanta Raspberry, Peach and Blood Orange have delighted customers previously, while Fanta Grape also only just appeared on shelves back in February.
