Mum Buys £5 Mystery Bag from Waitrose and Gets a Big Surprise

A mum spent £5 on a mystery Too Good To Go bag from Waitrose and was surprised by what she got. She usually doesn't buy these bags from this store because it's far. But she decided to try it after picking up her daughter from an event. She was excited to see what was inside.
The idea of the scheme is to reduce food waste and give shoppers a good deal. When she opened the bag, she was happy with what she found. The first thing she found was chestnut mushrooms that cost £1.50 normally.
She also found a tomato salsa for £2.15 and big mixed bread rolls for £2.15. She thought the rolls were a bit expensive for six.
Next, she found a chocolate mousse for £1.60 and dauphinoise potatoes for £2.60.
The last thing in the bag was cheese and bacon chicken breasts.
She said, 'It's not bad for £5. It's not the best bag I've had, but I'll use everything.'
The original price of the items was £18.35, which is more than three times what she paid. She said, 'That's amazing. I paid £5 and it will stop all this food from being wasted.'
She was happy with the bag, but it wasn't the most exciting one she's had. She asked if others would be happy with it for £5.
People commented on her post, saying they needed to free up space in their freezer and that they could make a family meal with the food. Another person said it was a good selection.
To get a Too Good To Go bag, download the app and look at the stores near you that are taking part. You can reserve a bag before picking it up so you're not disappointed.
All the bags have food that would have been thrown away because of the sell-by date. The bags usually cost £2 to £5, depending on the store.
Too Good To Go started in Copenhagen in 2015 to stop food waste in restaurants.
Now, Too Good To Go works in 19 countries and has 100 million users and 175,000 partner businesses.
