On February 12, Cortney Arden Wise III was arrested in Ohio.
The police found messages with the girl on his devices.
Wise is charged with exploiting children and having child pornography.
Wise is in custody in the US, and the investigation continues.
He may have harmed other children, say law enforcement officials.
Wise is not facing separate charges in Canada.
Wise posed as a 15-year-old boy, say court documents.
The girl created a Snapchat account using her grandmother's phone.
