Warning for Travelers to 13 Countries Due to Food Poisoning Risk

UK travelers have been warned about food poisoning in 13 countries. A Cambridge University study found high levels of food poisoning in some popular destinations.

Between July and October 2023, many travelers to Egypt, Mexico, Tunisia, and Turkey got stomach bugs. The true number of infections may be higher.

A study found 13 destinations with higher odds of food poisoning, including Egypt, Mexico, Tunisia, and Turkey.
Eating undercooked meat or fish and drinking unpurified water can increase the risk of illness. In high-risk destinations, eating foods from hotel buffets or environmental sources also increases the risk.
