2 BC Ferries Ships Not Working This Easter Weekend, 1 Now Fixed

Two BC Ferries ships are not working this Easter weekend, but one is fixed now.
The Spirit of Vancouver Island had a generator problem on Tuesday. It had just started working again on Sunday after another issue.
This ship sails between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay. It will start working again on Friday and have more trips.
The Queen of Surrey was being fixed when a problem with its steering was found. BC Ferries will share more information on Friday.
This ship goes between Sunshine Coast and Vancouver.
The Coastal Celebration ship is being fixed and has been at Swartz Bay since March 8.
BC Ferries said the Coastal Celebration ship can't be used until the end of April because it's being refitted.
We need a new ship to help when there are problems. Without it, we can't do much when ships are not working.
New ships will replace old ones like the Queens of Alberni and others.
BC Ferries asked for five new ships, but only four were approved.
About 400,000 people and 160,000 cars use BC Ferries on Easter weekend.
A problem with a tire stuck in a ship's propeller has been fixed. The 2:45 p.m. trip from Chemainus was late.
There's no drinking water on the Salish Heron ship until further notice.
