Time Out ranked the best UK seaside towns, and a hidden gem in Northumberland made the top 10. Alnmouth is known for its natural beauty and soft sands, located between Newcastle and Edinburgh.
Alnmouth is more popular than some well-known seaside resorts, including St Ives and Brighton, and is better than its nearby neighbors Bamburgh and Berwick.
The village has about 455 people.
Alnmouth is in one of Northumberland's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with unspoilt areas and lots of wildlife. Alnmouth Beach is a treasured spot, loved by tourists and locals for its sand and sea.
A visitor said: 'Nice beach with shops and cafes nearby. Parking is easy. It's not too commercial.'
