Singapore's Richest Man, Jason Chang, Sees His Wealth Double

Jason Chang, the chairman of ASE Technology Holding, has gained $11.8 billion in wealth since the end of last year. His net worth was $9.1 billion then. Now it is much higher.

This increase in wealth is more than the total wealth of the second richest man in Singapore, Li Xiting. Li Xiting now has $8.9 billion.

Jason is a Singapore citizen, but his company ASE is listed in Taiwan. ASE is the world's largest chip packaging and testing provider. Its shares have jumped 364% this year.

Jason owns more than 21% of ASE. This is according to a company filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Jason has a lot of control over ASE.

In April, ASE started building a new chip testing campus in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The investment is more than $3.4 billion. The first phase will start operations in April 2027. ASE is growing fast.

The company expects its revenue from advanced packaging to rise 10% to more than $3.5 billion in 2026. There is strong demand for AI chips.

ASE's CEO Tien Wu said the company will expand its capacity to meet AI demand. 15 new production sites will be added to its ecosystem this year.

The factory expansion is not just for the next two years, but for 2029 and beyond. This is to meet strong AI demand.

Not all top billionaires in Singapore have seen growth in assets this year. Xiting, chairman of Shenzhen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics, saw his net worth drop 23% to $8.9 billion. This is a big decrease.

Third-richest man Philip Ng has seen his wealth remain unchanged at around $7 billion. He controls Singapore's largest property developer Far East Organization.

Jason Chang's wealth has doubled in just six months. This is a very fast increase in wealth.
