Emmerdale's Caroline Harker on the 'cruel' people in her past

Actress Caroline Harker plays Dr Caitlin Todd in Emmerdale

As Dr Caitlin Todd, Caroline has been bullying Jacob Gallagher. Jacob tells his wife Sarah about it, and when he complains at work, he finds out Dr Todd already complained about him.

Caroline watched world leaders to learn how to play a bully. She says Dr Todd is like some world leaders who say and do bad things without fear. They have no empathy and always get what they want.

Caroline stores experiences to use for her characters. She says she has met bullies and remembers them. She went to a boarding school and some nuns were cruel.

Jacob goes to see Dr Todd and asks to talk. Then he decides to complain about her to her employers.

Caroline comes from an acting family. Her mum was in a TV series, her dad was in The Avengers, and her sister was in Pride and Prejudice.

Caroline's great-grandfather was in films, and her great-great grandfather was a child actor and scene painter.

Caroline says acting is in her family for generations. She thinks it's fun and couldn't imagine doing anything else.

Caroline is married to actor Anthony Calf and has two daughters.

Caroline's daughters work in the theatre and an agent's office.

Caroline was nervous when she started on Emmerdale. She wanted to do a good job and put pressure on herself.

Dr Todd bullies Jacob at work and at home. Caroline says Dr Todd is like a cat playing with a mouse.

Caroline played a police officer in A Touch of Frost.

Dr Todd also bullies Charity Dingle. She threatens to tell a secret about Charity's baby.

Caroline has played confident women before, but this is her first time playing a bully.

Caroline likes playing Dr Todd. She says the character is unpredictable and has a lot of energy for doing bad things.
