Matthew Perry's Assistant Sentenced for Giving Him Ketamine

Matthew Perry, a star of the TV show Friends, died in 2023 at 54.

His personal assistant has been sentenced to three years and five months in prison for giving Perry the drugs that killed him.

Perry was found dead in October 2023, and his assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, 61, pleaded guilty to giving him ketamine, which caused his death.

The judge said Iwamasa's actions were reckless and that he should have helped Perry with his addiction instead of giving him drugs.

Iwamasa is one of five people who pleaded guilty in connection with Perry's death and has been sentenced to prison.

The judge said there was no proof that Iwamasa meant to hurt Perry, but he still did something very wrong and apologized for his actions.

Iwamasa's lawyer asked for a shorter sentence, saying his client was just following Perry's orders.

But the judge said Iwamasa could have said no to giving Perry the drugs, and Perry's mother said Iwamasa should have protected her son instead of helping him take drugs.

Perry's mother said Iwamasa gave her son the drugs even though it was clear it was dangerous and that he was not qualified to do so.

She also said Iwamasa sent her messages and tried to act like he was a good person who tried to save Perry, but he was really just helping her son take drugs.

Iwamasa bought the ketamine from someone who got it from another person, and all of them have been sentenced to prison.

Iwamasa's sentence comes after the person who sold him the ketamine, known as the Ketamine Queen, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Later, Iwamasa admitted to giving Perry many injections of ketamine in the days before his death, and said Perry had asked him to give him a big dose on the day he died.
