1:34You know, him and Steven Spielberg in the '70s,

1:36when I was growing up --

1:37I just dated myself, but whatever.

1:41-And it just -- It opens your mind.

1:42They're so creative and, like, inspiring

1:45and good versus evil and --

1:46-But your daughter, who I love, by the way,

1:48who I've known since you were nice enough to come on our show

1:51probably 15 years ago.

1:52She was a baby.

1:53-She was a baby. She's 16 now. Yeah.

1:55-Isn't that crazy? -I know.

1:57-I mean, I actually saw her as a baby.

1:58-I know. -But she went to the set

2:00and she's now interested in working?

2:02-Well, she's been coming with me to sets forever.

2:05But when she came on the "Star Wars" set,

2:07there was something about it that was just --

2:09The same way it opened my imagination up,

2:12it opened her imagination up.

2:13And it's the first time in -- you know, at the time --

2:1515 years that she's ever like,

2:17"Do you think I could have a career in film?"

2:19Like, not necessarily in front of the camera,

2:21but, like, in some aspect.

2:23So I think it really struck her imagination.

2:25-Just to how much magic you can make in this business.

2:26-How much magic you can make, yeah.

2:28-So even, like, behind the scenes and, like --

2:30-Yeah. -Yeah.

2:31-Who knows? We'll see, yeah.

2:32-I know. -But it really got her thinking.

2:34-The magic of all this. I mean, I love --

2:41I was reading up on you and I saw that you actually are

2:43a fan of "Love Island."

3:50There's just, like, no shade. -Sun is tough for you.

3:56I would just be, like, running around with zinc oxide,

3:59being like, "You're looking a little crispy."

4:01-Oh, my God. That's your catchphrase?

4:08-Are you into reality TV in general?

4:11-I think I'm a little bit more of, like,

4:13a true-crime gal, yeah.

4:20-My wife watches it to go to sleep.

4:40Congrats. What made you decide to do this?

4:43-Well, Steven Spielberg is executive-producing

4:46with Martin Scorsese, so, of course --

4:47-No big deal. -Yeah.

4:48-Oh, my God!

4:49-Yes. So, like, totally -- Yeah.

4:51[ Cheers and applause ] -The best.

4:52-Yeah. And then Javier was already signed on.

4:55-By the way, he's creepy and great.

4:58And I wanted -- I always say I want a front-row seat

4:59to that performance.

5:00So -- And also just the different themes of

5:04justice and guilt.

5:05And I was a big fan of the different iterations

5:07and just kind of how they were flipping the script.

5:10There was a lot -- I get real dorky

5:11when I talk about work, so...

5:13I just was such a big fan of what they were examining

5:16and an opportunity to play a character

5:18that's morally ambiguous, you know?

5:20-Yeah. How do we set up this "Cape Fear" and who you play?

5:23-I play Anna Bowden, and in this telling,

5:27she was the defense attorney, as opposed to

5:30Nick Nolte's character or --

5:32-Yeah. -Yeah.

5:33So it's a female defense attorney.

5:36And my husband that I'm currently married to

5:38is the prosecuting attorney, so it gets a little messy.

5:41Yeah. -Yeah.

5:42-It's a little messy. -It definitely gets messy.

5:44And Javier is -- Whew! -He's so good, isn't he?

5:46But he's such a nice, funny, charming individual

5:49when you meet him in real life. -Like, the nicest, nicest.

5:52-But that's why I love watching actors act.

5:54I love watching you.

5:56I love people going into these worlds where you're like,

5:57"Oh, my God, he's frightening."

5:59-Terrifying. -Yes!

6:00Were you scared of him on set, acting with him?
