Last Suspect Caught in 2024 Winnipeg Extortion and Murder Case

A final suspect is arrested for the 2024 murder of 22-year-old Zeyad Shammo from Ontario.
The Winnipeg Police Service says 25-year-old Chad Jason Dandan was arrested on March 26 in Surrey, B.C.
Police are still investigating the killing of Shammo, which happened in September 2024.
The investigation led to Dandan's arrest. He is charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, and extortion.
Dandan is now in Winnipeg and in custody.
On Sept. 10, 2024, police got a call about a missing man who was taken the day before.
On Sept. 13, police found a dead man in a home on Bristol Avenue. It was Shammo.
Shammo's death was a murder.
Two other suspects, Sonny Balemba and Robert James Chaykowski, were arrested and charged.
Chaykowski also faces charges for not following a release order.
