Vietnam and US Start Pacific Partnership - Pacific Friendship 2026

Pacific Partnership is the US Navy's largest annual humanitarian mission in the Indo-Pacific region. Pacific Friendship focuses on humanitarian aid, engineering, medical services, and disaster management. These missions help many people. They are very important. The US Army Pacific and the 18th Theater Medical Command are co-hosting Pacific Friendship.
There was an opening ceremony for Pacific Partnership and Pacific Friendship in Quang Tri Province.
This is the first time these two missions have been combined and held in Quang Tri. They will do 25 activities in four areas: humanitarian assistance, health care, community infrastructure, and community engagement.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Hoang Nam, said that 2026 marks 31 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the US. The two countries have developed a strong partnership based on trust and mutual respect. They want to promote peace and prosperity.
Hoang Nam said the Pacific Partnership and Pacific Friendship mission shows solidarity, cooperation, and community responsibility. These projects bring benefits to locals and deepen connections between the two countries.
