0:31of any animal, so, they don't have many predators.

0:38But as they forage off the coast of one small island...

0:41their greatest nemesis is approaching.

0:58Yoko and Setsuko are hunters and they have a fearsome reputation.

1:08These two 70-year-olds are on a shopping trip like no other.

1:21Yoko and Setsuko live on the tiny island of Kudaka.

1:27It's only four kilometres across and, with limited space on land,

1:32the locals look to the sea to provide.

1:49As the sun sets, the ladies' prey is approaching.

2:02On certain summer nights,

2:04venomous sea snakes move towards the island

2:07and gather in coastal caves...

2:11looking for shelter and fresh water to drink.

2:24But coming ashore on this island, is extremely risky.

2:50It takes some nerve to wade in with no protective clothing.

2:56Sea snake venom can be ten times more powerful than a rattlesnake's.

3:21Yoko has been hunting snakes for 40 years.

3:25It's a skill that's been passed down the generations here,

3:28for at least five centuries.
