The library isn’t just for books — it’s a gateway to your community

0:01with your community, go to your local

0:03library. What you will find at the

0:04library is books and more. And what I

0:06mean by that is in any given library,

0:07the heart of the library are its books.

0:10Books that are written by various

0:12authors covering various topics from a

0:14variety of angles. Library is a place

0:15where you can really explore any topic

0:17that you're interested in. You can go

0:19and see many ways and many things that

0:21people have wrote about that topic. But

0:22the library is also more than books.

0:24Many libraries now offer creation

0:26spaces, maker spaces, co-working spaces,

0:29places to record. And these are all free

0:31resources that are available to you with

0:32your library card. And so I encourage

0:34people uh to step into the local library

0:37and check out all that it has to offer.

0:38If you feel intimidated about stepping

0:40into the library, I'd encourage you to

0:41go to the library's website. Many

0:43libraries have multiple locations across

0:44the city, and these locations are very

0:46different. Some of them have different

0:47things, different resources. So starting

0:50at the library's website is one place to

0:52really see where you actually want to

0:53get started. Then of course when you get

0:55to the library you will see librarians

0:56there who are friendly folks who'll be

0:58more than happy to help you and assist

1:00you whatever your hearts desire.
