Vietnam and Laos Plan Culture and Tourism Cooperation for 2026-2030

Both countries had good results from their cultural and tourism cooperation from 2021-2025, including successful cultural weeks and activities.
The ministers shared ideas on managing culture and tourism and proposed ways to improve cooperation in the coming years.
They agreed to increase cultural and tourism ties, including more exchanges and activities, to strengthen their friendship and cooperation. They also planned to work together on preserving heritage and managing historical sites.
The two countries will develop their workforce together through scholarships and partnerships to promote mutual understanding and people-to-people bonds.
The two sides signed a cooperation scheme for culture and tourism for 2026-2030.
Later, Thanh visited the Chief of the Office of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, Phet Phomphiphak, in Vientiane.
The two ministers launched the Vietnam Cultural Week in Laos 2026, which includes cultural and arts events until May 16.
Thanh said the cultural week will showcase Vietnam's unique culture, including traditional water puppetry, to Lao audiences.
The Lao minister said the cultural week reflects the close ties between the two countries and their culture ministries.
The cultural week is part of the two nations' efforts to strengthen their strategic cooperation, as agreed by their leaders and outlined in the Vietnamese Government's Resolution 09/NQ-CP.
