Apple May Stop Selling $599 MacBook Neo

Apple is making more MacBook Neo laptops, from 5-6 million to 10 million, says analyst Tim Culpan.
After using leftover iPhone 16 Pro chips, Apple will make new chips for the MacBook Neo.
This could lower Apple's profit margins because they won't be using old iPhone parts.
Apple might stop selling the $599 MacBook Neo and make the $699 version the new starting point.
The MacBook Neo was released in March and became very popular.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said they were optimistic about the MacBook Neo before it came out.
The MacBook Neo sold out quickly, so Apple has to make more.
To make more MacBook Neo laptops, Apple has to spend a lot on new chips.
The MacBook Neo uses special A18 Pro chips from the iPhone 16 Pro.
These chips have a small problem and can't be used in iPhones.
The MacBook Neo has a five-core GPU, not six like the iPhone 16 Pro.
As costs rise, Apple might not want to sell the $599 MacBook Neo anymore.
One solution is to stop selling the 256GB version, like they did with the Mac Mini.
This would make the $699 version the only standard option, unless they add a 1TB model.
New MacBook Neo laptops won't have better graphics performance.
Apple will likely keep disabling one GPU core to keep things consistent.
A MacBook Neo bought now or later will likely have the same specs as before.
One thing that might change is the color options.
If the price goes up, Apple might add new colors to make it more appealing.
For some buyers, the $100 price increase could be worth it for more storage and Touch ID.
Stopping the $599 model might make sense for Apple, even if some people won't like it.
