0:13hi guys I'm Sabrina I went to a summer camp that
was and remains very special in my heart and I
0:22was a camper there in a counselor when I was
a counselor it comes with some pressures and
0:28some social pressures you know it's like being in
high school you want to keep up with the cool kids
0:33so one night when I was a little bit of a younger
counselor two of my friends they were always kind
0:41of you know the trend setters they started
to start to communicate via walkie-talkies
0:47and before long everyone wanted a walkie-talkie
especially because they had really cool codeen
0:52names for each other they'd be like sir sir
drill drill okay I guys I don't know how to make
1:00noises for walkie-talkies and they tumble on the
ground and like act like secret agents and open
1:05doors and go clear clear besides the fact that it
was really funny it was also so sick because you
1:10don't have phones out at Camp because we're
offline so it really spread it's spread like
1:16a Wildfire by lunchtime two other counselors
had their walkie-talkies by end of day a bunch
1:22of counselors went out and got walkie-talkies
and by day three I did find myself having phone
1:30then there was this senior level counselor
who met Nothing by it but was like why don't
1:34you guys have walkie-talkies yet to me and
my friend this is the worst thing we could
1:38have ever heard I was like I have had it we
will not stand on the outside anymore we need
1:45walkie-talkies so my friend and I One Night
put on our rain boots because it was pouring
1:50we got in the car and we drove to a Target in
the storm we like passed cars that were pulled
1:56over with their hazard lights on and my friend
was like are you sure this this is a good idea
2:01but my fomo totally took over and we walked in
with such determination and we got our walkie
2:06takies we got back in the car and it was still
storming and we finally finally made it back to
2:12Camp got right to bed pretty sure I like slept
with my walkie-talkie under my pillow because I
2:16was so excited to show it off to all the other
counselors plus you know it really just felt
2:20like we had just survived the Titanic trying
to get this thing so I was not going to let
2:26it out of my sight and I'm not even kidding you
I think it was the next day someone was like oh
2:32yeah the director said no more walkie-talkies is
like their distraction to the campers I was like
2:36you've got to be kidding me anyways I guess the
lesson there is maybe don't put your life into
2:44your own hands just to keep up with a trend that
your friends are obsessed with you know what I
2:51mean oh my God we totally jumped off
the cliff and had to zoom all the way
2:58to show because the dog Chas all the way to again
