On Monday evening, RVDK’s representative in China indicated that the dress had been sent from the Netherlands and was borrowed by Angelababy.

The brand remarked that it is typically very particular about lending outfits and only allows exceptions in limited commercial instances, explaining that it agreed to the loan due to prior collaborations with the actress and its trust in her.

Angelababy later mentioned that the conflict stemmed from cultural variances between China and Western nations. Van der Kemp clarified that while he was aware that she would wear the dress during the livestream, he had assumed it was for a fan gathering rather than a sales presentation.

After Angelababy’s team elaborated on how livestream commerce functions in China, he acknowledged the situation and expressed regret for the confusion.

He subsequently shared a video message conveying his support for Angelababy and commending her as one of the most stunning celebrities.

Born Yang Ying, Angelababy started her career as a model before transitioning to acting. While her performances have faced critique, she is still in high demand for endorsements and acts as a brand ambassador for many firms.

She was formerly married to actor Huang Xiaoming; the couple separated in 2022 and share an eight-year-old son.
