In Western astrology, there are 12 star signs, each boasting unique personality traits and characteristics. These 12 zodiac signs are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces - and they are divided into four groups of elements: Fire, Earth, Air and Water.

Fire signs are known to be, well, fiery, whilst water and air signs can be cold or moody, with one described as capable of being a "huge backstabber", according to an astrologer. Even Earth signs can be unpredictable, with one in particular being "totally disapproving" at times. Of all 12 zodiac signs, six are most likely to be "hated" by their peers, with one standing out as "most hated", according to an astrologer, so is yours among them?

Astrologer Susan Taylor at Astro Fame revealed the "most hated" star sign: "Geminis have a reputation for being prickly, manipulative, and unfaithful.

"Among the 12 signs of the zodiac, some have a particularly bad reputation, so much so that they seem to cumulate bad character traits.

"When it comes to being the least popular sign, the first prize is incontestably awarded to... Gemini."

According to the astrologer, the reason Gemini is so disliked is down to their "turbulent personality" as other signs never know what they're going to get, reports the Express.

The astrologer continued: "This air sign personality is simply so unpredictable that folks regularly find themselves walking on eggshells around Gemini natives.

"Their unstable character and constant mood swings mean that Geminis are regularly hard to be around and make for truly unreliable friends."

The astrology expert recommended that during difficult times, people should steer clear of Gemini and look towards Cancer individuals instead.

But Gemini isn't the sole "hated" star sign - the astrologer insisted people aren't overly keen on Virgo either.

According to the astrologer, Virgo is known for their "icy personality" and "condescending behaviour", which explains why others might find them challenging company.

People rarely approach Virgo in moments of crisis or joy because they "come across as totally disapproving of just about everything".

Virgo doesn't mean to be spiteful, and it's simply a protective barrier for this guarded sign, which finds it difficult to open up. Nonetheless, this renders friendship with them "nigh on impossible", she said.

Following closely is Leo, who irritates other signs by "overdoing it" at every opportunity.

Craving the limelight, "they are often seen as unbearable and overly competitive".

They're even branded "fake", which means most of the time, others don't fully trust them. Many prefer to keep Leo at a distance.

Aries' "fiery personality" can be held responsible for scaring other signs off, as they're susceptible to an "explosive rage" when provoked, the astrologer claimed. People tend to keep their distance from Aries as they are "certainly unpredictable and could explode like a volcano at any given moment".

Scorpios are also a "hated" sign due to their "razor-sharp tongue" - when riled, they can be particularly biting with their words.

Whilst they are lauded for being "straight-talkers", Scorpios have a tendency to push things a bit too far, often lacking tact.

Lastly, Libra possesses a "dark side" which can lead others to mistrust them.

However, they frequently manage to conceal their hidden agendas behind their "smiley exterior".

According to astrology, Libra can be a "huge backstabber", capable of "anything" they set their minds to.
