my best was a failure.

myself that I wasn't enough.
0:45- [Narrator] I locked myself away.
0:46- [Narrator] I felt voiceless.
0:48- [Narrator] Trapped.
0:49- [Narrator] Extremely angry.
0:50- I let the opinions of other people
0:53literally dictate how I felt.
0:55- And I asked myself why?
0:57- I just knew, in that moment,
1:01something has to change.
1:02- And everything just hit me, it's like...
1:05- Fuck it, I should be able to be happy.
1:07- And I started looking into myself.
1:09- And in that one specific moment,
1:12I was able to find my
confidence in myself.
1:15- Taking control of my life was a rebirth.
1:19- Shedding all that baggage
was complete freedom.
1:23- I was putting trust in me.
1:25- And how I was gonna fulfill my life.
1:28- That was my time where
I kind of realized that,
1:30you know what, I got somethin' to prove.
1:32- And I felt really empowered.
- Invincible.
1:35- All of the sudden, I
wasn't the victim anymore.
1:37I would be the victor.
1:40- [Narrator] Now, I am an online
fitness coach, cancer free.
1:43- [Narrator] I use cooking as a therapy.
1:45- [Narrator] I am a transgender activist.
1:47- [Narrator] I've won two gold, two silver
1:48and a bronze medal at
the Paralympic Games.
1:51- [Narrator] I'm doing
something that I love
1:57- Why feed something
that's already so negative
1:59in my life, with more negativity?
2:01- You had control over that.
2:03- There are no excuses, ever.
2:05- There's no no in the equation.
2:07There's no can'ts in the
equation, there's always a way.
2:10- It's a responsibility to yourself.
2:13- Your happiness is a choice away.
2:18- Use it as an opportunity
to write the next chapter.
