AI robot provides emotional support to animals.
Fox News
Tuya Smart has recently launched Aura, its inaugural AI-driven companion robot created for pets.
Aura is specifically crafted for domestic cats and dogs and is equipped with AI that is trained to identify their behaviors, actions, and vocal signals. The concept of Aura is straightforward. Pets require more than just food bowls and surveillance cameras. They crave attention, interaction, and comfort.
Aura remains active within the household, monitoring behavioral alterations and reacting in real time, enabling owners to have a better understanding of their pets’ well-being. Numerous pets face challenges when left alone for extended periods. Subtle changes are often the first indicators. A dog might cease playing. A cat could retreat or engage in excessive grooming. These indicators may suggest stress or anxiety. Aura intervenes during those quiet periods, providing engagement instead of solitude.

ROBOTS MASTER 1,000 TASKS IN A SINGLE DAY THROUGH ONE DEMONSTRATION

Smart feeders and pet cameras cover the essentials. Emotional support is another matter. Pets are social beings. When their routines alter, their demeanor can rapidly change. Aura observes behavior and listens for variations in sound patterns. It can discern if a pet is feeling excited, anxious, lonely, or at ease. Aura then communicates real-time emotional updates to the owner's smartphone. This facilitates early detection of issues rather than relying on hindsight.
Aura functions more like a companion rather than a stationary device. Several systems collaborate throughout the day to keep pets entertained. Notable features include:
Rather than waiting for a button to be pressed, Aura seeks opportunities for interaction. It transforms prolonged, quiet hours into periods of play and stimulation.
Aura also monitors for special moments that are worth preserving. Using AI pet recognition and advanced tracking, it captures daily highlights such as playful moments, peaceful naps, and amusing interactions. Aura can automatically compile these clips into short videos, helping owners stay connected and feel closer to their pets even in their absence. It also simplifies the process of recording moments you might never witness yourself, making it easy to share with family or post on social media.

Movement is a crucial aspect of Aura’s presence in the household. With V-SLAM navigation, binocular vision, and AIVI object recognition, Aura navigates freely while avoiding barriers. When its battery is low, it autonomously returns to its charging dock. This ensures it's always ready without needing constant attention from its owners.
Aura is integrated into Tuya's wider ecosystem, granting access to services beyond the home. These encompass smart pet boarding, health and medical services, behavior training, grooming, customization, and community tools. Instead of focusing on a single task, Aura serves as a central hub for pet care that can adapt over time.
Aura prioritizes pets today, but the technology underlying it has broader implications. Emotional intelligence, anticipatory assistance, and ecosystem integration could also enhance elder care, home monitoring, and family connectivity. By beginning with pets, Tuya sets a clear emotional use case while paving the way for future advancements in home robotics.

Tuya has yet to announce a release date or pricing for Aura. The company presented the robot earlier this month at CES 2026, but details regarding availability and cost remain uncertain. These specifics are likely to emerge closer to a broader consumer launch. Nonetheless, Aura signifies a transition in how smart home technology caters to pets. It moves beyond mere monitoring to engage more deeply and promote emotional awareness. If Aura fulfills its potential, it could help pet owners feel more at ease leaving their animals home alone while maintaining connectivity throughout the day.
If technology is capable of interpreting your pet's emotions and responding immediately, would you trust it as a part of your home's routine, or might that feel overwhelming? Share your thoughts with us at Cyberguy.com.
