After lunch, we set out to explore the town itself, wandering through its charming streets and taking in the unique blend of medieval and modern architecture.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn't on our side during our visit, so we opted to head back into the town centre to explore its many shops and attractions.

As a book lover, I was excited to visit Topping and Company, a well-known family-run bookshop with a reputation for excellence.

The shop did not disappoint, with its vast selection of titles and welcoming atmosphere making it the perfect spot to while away an hour or two.

With its endless bookshelves and knowledgeable staff, Topping and Company is a must-visit for anyone who loves to read.

After browsing the shelves and selecting a new book to take home, we set out to find our final destination: a famous bakery that's a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Fisher and Donaldson is a St Andrews institution, famous for its delicious fudge doughnuts that are widely regarded as the best in Scotland.

The bakery has been a family-run business since 1919, and its commitment to quality and excellence is still evident in every aspect of its operation.

The fudge doughnuts are a must-try, with their light, fluffy texture and delicious fudge icing making them the perfect treat to enjoy with a cup of coffee.

As we left St Andrews and headed back home, we couldn't help but feel that we'd only scratched the surface of this charming town.
