0:00The Trump Phone versus the iPhone 17. One of these  is a real flagship phone. The other is… well,
0:07who knows. So what are you actually  getting… and what are you not getting?
0:11First, Trump isn't just a phone, it's also a  mobile service provider. Except... it kind of
0:16isn't? And the Trump phone isn’t a new phone.  We’ll explain it all… there's a lot to unpack.
0:22Let’s start with Trump Mobile.
0:24Here’s what the plan actually says.
0:25Unlimited talk - sort of- text and data. Free SIM  card, free shipping, no contract - and you can
0:31bring your own phone. You even get international  calls to 100 countries, with absolutely no credit
0:36check. All this and... well that's it, nothing  more, for just $47.45 as part of The 47 Plan!
0:44And the phone itself? We’ll get to that…  because that’s where it gets weird.
0:49Trump Mobile is clearly a steal, given that  it out prices pretty much all of the standard
0:53competition. For example, T-Mobile starts at  around $40 to $60 a month, Verizon at $65 a month,
1:00and AT&T goes for $50-66 a month. How in the  world did Trump Mobile build an international
1:05cellular network seemingly overnight and manage  to price everyone out? Well, because they didn't.
1:12And once you see how it works,  the price suddenly makes sense.
1:14In fact, Trump Mobile only exists digitally-  there is zero infrastructure. Instead,
1:19the company takes the same route as many  other smaller cell service providers that
1:23target lower income communities - they simply  lease service from the major cell providers and
1:27their infrastructure. This means that they  don't have the up-front cost of physical
1:31infrastructure to build and maintain which  gets passed on to the consumer, like T-mobile.
1:36Seems like a win-win. But here’s  what happens in the fine print.
1:40First, because Trump Mobile simply leases space  on existing infrastructure, this means that when
1:45cell tower and satellite use is high during peak  hours, you're going to be the first to get bumped
1:50over full-price paying customers. This is why your  friends with Boost Mobile aren't responding to
1:54your texts between 2 and 6 pm - give it a few  hours, they're basically on dial up speed. If
2:00you don't care about peak hour instagram use,  then Trump Mobile may be a good deal for you.
2:05But if you're hoping to have reliable calls  and fast internet speeds while the rest of the
2:09world is streaming a hilariously disappointing  Stranger Things series finale, then forget it.
2:14And here’s the part nobody puts on the billboard.
2:16Per Trump Mobile's own terms of service,  the mobile service's unlimited plans are
2:20subject to speed throttling after  reaching data thresholds which are
2:23not clearly defined. You get to find out  what happens by paying almost $48 a month.
2:29It appears that under the hood Trump Mobile is  running mostly on T-Mobile infrastructure - though
2:33the company has worked hard to hide these  details. It's also suspected they're also using
2:37AT&T hardware and possibly other major carriers.  This isn't necessarily a bad thing, this can allow
2:43smaller brands to have greater coverage or more  reliable coverage by using the best infrastructure
2:48in a region. But it also puts you into competition  for bandwidth with even more paying customers of
2:53those big brands. Again, it comes down to when  you expect to use Trump Mobile- if you don't
2:58use a cell phone much or only during off-peak  hours, this is probably a good choice for you.
3:03Since you're mostly riding in T-Mobile's  back seat, how good can you expect Trump
3:08Mobile coverage to be? Per the FCC, T-Mobile  covers nearly half of the United States,
3:13or 1.9 million square miles (4.9 million sq km).  It services 99% of Americans though who don't
3:18live in Bigfoot country, with 5G covering  36% of the nation and growing by the year.
3:24When it comes to plans,  there's only one - The 47 Plan.
3:27For about $47 a month plus tax, you get one  line and unlimited data… until you hit 20 gigs,
3:33and then your speeds get kneecapped. Unlike fancy,  rich city folk plans from T-Mobile and AT&T,
3:39Trump Mobile caps out at 480p video streaming,  which will be really impressive to all your
3:44friends from 1992. You do get unlimited minutes  and texts, but no international data or airplane
3:50service - which let's be real, you probably  don't need if you're buying Trump Mobile.
3:54The best way to compare this is to T-mobile,
3:57given that it rides on T-mobile's  hardware for the most part.
4:00Let's look at the lowest tier plan,  which is closest to Trump Mobile's
4:03single plan. The Essentials  plan runs you $60 a month,
4:07but you can add a second line for only  $30 and get a third line free as of the
4:11writing of this script. Trump Mobile only  offers a single line, there's no option
4:15to add additional lines. Any additional lines  require you to sign up for the full $47 plan.
4:20T-mobile will also give you an autopay  discount, something Trump Mobile doesn't
4:24offer. Another plus on T-Mobile's side is  the 50 gigs of data you get every month,
4:29which unlike Trump Mobile won't get you dropped  if you exceed. Instead you get downgraded from
4:34peasant level streaming to serf level streaming,  and will notice a drop in speed and quality.
4:38One advantage to Trump Mobile is that T-mobile  doesn't offer international calling even in
4:43limited capacity for its essentials plan. While  Trump Mobile typically offers restricted minutes
4:48of calling, T-mobile charges a flat $0.25 fee  per minute. But if you're buying either plan,
4:53you probably don't have anyone international  to call- unless you're on Trump Mobile and
4:58your farm's workforce has suddenly  and unexpectedly gone international.
5:02Alright, now that we understand the sca- the  service, what about the actual Trump Phone itself.
5:07Meet the T1 - it's time to make  non-peak calling great again.
5:12The T1 is everything an American could  want a phone to be. It'...s a phone,
5:17it has a 50 mega pixel camera, cutting  edge features already developed years ago
5:22like fingerprint and face unlock. And  best of all, it can be yours for only
5:26$100. Plus another $499 later -  that's in the semi-fine print.
5:32Perhaps the best part of the Trump phone is  that it can basically be anything that you
5:35want it to be, because it doesn't exist.  There hasn't been a single manufactured
5:40Trump phone to date, so when comparing it  to the Iphone 17 it has that going for it.
5:45One point to Trump phone for being of  unlimited potential due to not existing,
5:49and one point to Iphone 17 for being a  physical product that exists within our
5:54bubble of euclidean space/time. As a consumer  it's up to you to decide which of these matters
5:58more to you. A Buddhist on the Five Paths  of Seeing might argue the formless Trump
6:03Phone - with its unlimited potential -  is worth more than any physical object
6:07with fixed traits. Once something exists, it’s  basically immutable… pending software updates
6:13How else do they stack up?
6:14Right there on the official Trump Phone website  we have the specs.. sort of. But our second point
6:20of comparison is the fact that the Trump phone is  quote - Proudly American - end quote. We scoured
6:26Apple's Iphone 17 page and couldn't find a  single claim of it being Proudly American.
6:32One bald headed screaming  eagle point to Trump Phone.
6:35Note that the Trump Phone official page does not  claim that the Trump Phone is Made in America.
6:40Rather that it is quote- proudly American-  and quote- American-proud design... which
6:46we checked with various technology experts  and no one could tell us what that means.
6:50The T1 as it's called is quote- designed with  American values in mind- end quote. Yet no
6:56matter where you look on the website, does it say  the phone is or will be manufactured in America.
7:01And all that wording isn't just bad, repetitive  copy- it's on purpose, because the vast majority
7:07of phones are not manufactured in America.  The US lost its cell phone manufacturing base
7:12back in the 90s and never got it back.  While some phones are made in the USA,
7:17no modern cell phone with the features the T1  promises could possibly be made in America at
7:22the price point being quoted. It's simply  not economically viable for an enterprise
7:26that's hoping to sell phones in the hundreds of  thousands, not the millions like the big players.
7:31However, The T1 is quote- a bold step  towards independence. Once more we
7:36scoured Apple's product description and  found nothing about independence. Our
7:40founding fathers didn't fight the Germans  on Iwo Jima to not have independence,
7:45so one lip-filler and silicone blond  news anchor point to the Trump phone.
7:50Under the hood, the T1 is  supposed to run on Android,
7:53while the Iphone 17 runs on IOS 26.  Which operating system is better?
7:58Well if you check Android forums it's  obviously Android 16, and if you check
8:03Mac forums it's obviously iOS 26. Which  system comes out on top? We have no idea,
8:09we don't use either operating system - we  summon spirits with powerful hallucinogenics
8:13and bloodletting rituals to give them messages  to deliver on our behalf like normal people.
8:19Android has some better customization,  while Apple tends to beat Android to
8:22the cultural punch by getting the best apps  and features first. It’s really up to your
8:26preferences- remember to fight viciously  and savagely about it in the comments.
8:31Displays are all-important in modern smart phones,  which is why the T1 is packing a 6.25 inch (15.8
8:37cm) 120 Hz display... maybe. Possibly. It could  be an etch-a-sketch for all we know, because again
8:43literally nothing is confirmed, there are zero  technical details or plans officially released.
8:48The Iphone meanwhile features a 6.3 inch  (16 cm) HZ ProMotion display. Iphone takes
8:53the point here for first, existing, and  second, having a whole extra .05 of an
8:59inch (1.2 cm). How the screens actually compare  to each other if the T1 specs are real depends.
9:04Apple has proven display technology that  improves every year. At half the price,
9:08a Trump phone competing with Iphone  17 for quality is not encouraging.
9:12At its heart, a smartphone is powered by its  processor and Apple is using the A19 chip,
9:17featuring 6-core CPU and 5-core GPU, along with  a 16-core Neural Engine - which we have no clue
9:25what it does because we talk to women in  the real world. Do you like ray tracing?
9:30Apple's got your ray tracing, built right into  its pretty impressively powerful A19 chip.
9:35The Trump Phone is bringing... your imagination.  What's powering the T1? It could be anything,
9:42it could even be a box. There has been no  processor announced, but industry experts don't
9:47believe it'll pack anything more than a mid-tier  android processor given its price point. If you're
9:52buying a discount phone, you're not getting  premium performance. It's as simple as that.
9:56The Trump phone is supposed to be packing a  50 mega pixel camera, which beats Iphone 17's
10:0148 megapixel camera - you can be 2 megapixels  more annoying on Instagram with a Trump phone
10:07than you can with an Iphone now. Except  the Iphone 17 is cheating, because it's
10:12using advanced technology to actually fuse two  cameras into one for much greater performance.
10:17The Iphone 17's cameras basically act as  one, allowing the sensor to capture much
10:22more data and thus giving sharper images and  greatly improved low-light performance. Behind
10:27the lenses is extremely powerful proprietary  software working to glue the images together.
10:32The combination of hardware and  software specs of the Iphone 17,
10:36and the fact that currently if you've  put a down payment on a Trump phone
10:40you're recording memories on a sketch pad  means the point goes to the Iphone 17.
10:45For battery, the Iphone 17 features a next  generation lithium-ion battery with an impressive
10:50life of up to 30 hours of video playback, 27 if  streamed. The battery is also fast-charge capable,
10:56with 50% charge in 20 minutes with a 40 watt  adapter, or 30 minutes with the standard 30
11:01watt adapter. Due to new features, the Iphone  17 features a 17% less chance than normal over
11:08prior models of spontaneously combusting in your  pocket and turning your sex organs into charcoal.
11:13Remember that? When Samsung  products were randomly exploding?
11:16The Trump phone's battery lasts  as long as your imagination does,
11:19because it too hasn't been announced.  What is claimed is a 5000 mAh battery,
11:24which roughly translates to 25 to 28 hours of  video streaming or 6-8 hours of playing games.
11:30When it comes to technical specs, the Iphone 17  clearly beats out the Trump phone, which is no
11:35surprise given the fact that it's just under  double the price for the base model. But when
11:40it comes to physically existing, the Iphone 17  also takes the win. It's not exactly encouraging
11:45that Trump Mobile sells refurbished phones from  other- real- manufacturers right on its website.
11:50The Trump phone was announced on June 16th of  2025 and there’s been no technical specs or
11:56prototype since then. So maybe the real Trump  phone was the friends and vodka and steaks and
12:02mortgage companies and casinos and universities  and phone companies- again- we made along the way.
