Measles is back in the UK.
A doctor from the UKHSA said they are sad about the children who died. Measles is still a problem in many parts of the country and can be very serious.
The doctor said all parents should make sure their children have had the MMR vaccine. This vaccine protects against measles, which can spread easily. Anyone who missed their measles vaccine can still get it from their doctor.
Getting vaccinated also helps protect babies who are too young to be vaccinated and people who cannot have the vaccine. Please do not wait and book an appointment today if you or your child are not up to date.
The Health Secretary said he is sad about the families who lost their children. These deaths show that measles is not a harmless illness.
The Health Secretary's name is James Murray.
Measles can lead to serious problems that can be fatal. The MMR vaccine is the best protection against this disease.
The Health Secretary said all parents should check that their children are up to date with their vaccinations. It is never too late to catch up, and by doing so, we protect our children and our communities.
