Aldi has updated its store hours for the Easter weekend in 2026 and has also revealed the quietest times for shoppers to visit its stores.

The dates for Easter vary from year to year, with Good Friday falling on April 3, Easter Sunday on April 5, and Easter Monday on April 6 in 2026.

If you are planning to visit an Aldi store over the Easter weekend, be aware that the stores will be open between 8am and 9pm on both Good Friday and Easter Saturday, but they will be closed on Easter Sunday to allow staff to spend time with their loved ones.

By law, large shops must close on Easter Sunday, with the exception of those in Scotland, while smaller shops are permitted to remain open; Aldi stores will reopen on Easter Monday, operating between 8am and 8pm, although customers are advised to check the specific hours for their local store online.

For those seeking to avoid the crowds, the quietest times to shop are expected to be between 8am and 9am or later in the evening, from 7pm to 10pm, which are considered the best times to pick up Easter shopping.

This announcement comes as Aldi is set to become the best-paying UK supermarket, having recently announced another pay increase for thousands of its employees.

The hourly rate for store assistants will rise to £13.50 nationally and £14.88 inside the M25 from April 1, with these rates increasing to £14.47 and £15.20 respectively based on the length of service.

This pay increase will benefit over 28,000 hourly-paid store workers and represents the second pay rise for Aldi staff this year.

At the beginning of 2026, the supermarket announced that it would increase pay for its employees in March 2026; Aldi currently employs more than 45,000 people across the UK.

Aldi has plans to open 40 new stores in 2026 as part of a £370 million investment program, which also includes an additional £300 million for upgrading and extending existing stores.
