Finland Wins Hockey Championship, Norway Takes Bronze

Finland won the championship for the fifth time with a 1-0 overtime win.

Noah Steen scored in overtime to help Norway beat Canada 3-2 and win the bronze medal.

Steen's goal came at 3:32 of overtime, giving Norway its first medal at the world men's hockey championship.

Robert Thomas scored two goals for Canada in the last 1:16 of the game to force overtime. Canada tried hard but could not win.

Canada's coach, Misha Donskov, said, 'We did not play well for the whole 60 minutes.' He gave credit to Norway for playing with pride and commitment.

Donskov also said, 'Our team had great leaders and players, but it did not end the way we wanted.'

Norway beat Canada in overtime to win the bronze medal.

Canada lost to Finland 4-2 in the semifinals and had to play for bronze.

This is the third year in a row that Canada did not win a medal at the world championship.

Jet Greaves, Canada's goalie, stopped 21 shots and had a .919 save percentage in the tournament. He played well, but Canada still lost.

Macklin Celebrini, Canada's captain, had 14 points in the tournament and said Canada could have done better.

Celebrini said, 'Norway played a great game, and we knew they would come out strong.' He felt Canada had more to give but could not win.

Celebrini also said, 'We never gave up, and we tried to score as the game went on.' He gave credit to his team for trying hard.

Canada won its group in the preliminary round and beat the US 4-0 to get to the semifinals. But then they lost to Finland.

Canada has won 28 gold medals at the world championship since 1931. They also have 16 silver and 7 bronze medals.

Finland won the championship for the fifth time by beating Switzerland 1-0 in overtime.

Konsta Helenius scored the winning goal 10:42 into overtime to help Finland win.

Finland's goalie, Justus Annunen, stopped all 22 shots to shut out Switzerland.

Finland also won the championship in 1995, 2011, 2019, and 2022.

This is Finland's first medal since they won the championship four years ago.

Finland felt happy and proud to win the championship. They played well and deserved to win.

Switzerland had a chance to score on a 5-on-3 power play but could not.

The final game was a rematch of a group stage game that Switzerland won 4-2.

Finland finished second in their group and then beat the Czechs and Canada to get to the final.

Finland's captain, Aleksander Barkov, played well despite being injured earlier in the year. He had three goals and eight assists in the tournament.

Barkov helped Finland win the championship with his great play. He scored three goals and had eight assists in 10 games.
