0:00The DNA, if you will, of a job is going
0:02to be be altered by AI. The job that
0:05you're doing today is not going to be
0:06the job that you're doing tomorrow.
0:12Hi, my name is Senior Goodell and I'm
0:14chief economist at Indeed. The hiring
0:16market for the last gosh 2 3 years has
0:20been continuously cooling, a little bit
0:22on shaky legs. Employers really have to
0:24start thinking about what skills they
0:26need to hire for for the future. And
0:28it's really all about what type of
0:30technology you're infusing, right? And
0:32how you're setting and mixing that with
0:34your own tools and and processes on the
0:37job. At Indeed, we sit on an incredible
0:39data perch. We're able to see the demand
0:41side of things and the supply side of
0:43things, right? We have a lot of this
0:45data. We have millions and millions of
0:47observations. It's really easy to then
0:49start to slice and dice the data to be
0:51able to look at, okay, what is happening
0:53in this sector uh for this part of a
0:55job. And so being able to kind of really
0:57dive uh dive down and see, you know,
1:00with almost like a magnifying glass
1:02what's going on is really cool. One of
1:04the things I think a lot about is of
1:06course AI and what we're going through
1:08right now is going to make us all feel a
1:09little uncomfortable. And that's that's
1:11very normal. The cool thing about AI is
1:14that it's the disruptor, but it's also
1:16the technology that can hopefully help
1:18you adapt to all of this change, right?
1:21So if we can harness that power
1:22correctly and actually use the disruptor
1:25to our advantage, I think that's a
1:27really nice silver lining of all of this
1:30disruption. Economic uncertainty will be
1:32with us for quite some time. So I think
1:34that's that's sticking around and all
1:36the effects it's having on the market as
1:38well. What we have seen is that jobs
1:40themselves will change and you'll use
1:43certain parts um AI and certain parts
1:46human to be able to produce output.
1:48That's really where we're seeing a bulk
1:50of the transformation or the bulk of the
1:52impact sit in that hybrid space. So the
1:54the mix of skills that employers will
1:57hire for the job of tomorrow are going
1:59to change quite a bit. You might not do
2:01your job the way you thought you were
2:03going to do it just you know a year ago.
2:05But hopefully you can use AI to make
2:07your output better right to make you
2:09more productive to learn skills faster.
2:12am thrilled that I have the ability to
2:14uh explain the world around us using
2:17data and at indeed we have a ton of
2:19data. So if we can take data and explain
2:22it well and analyze it, answer questions
2:25that better decisions will be made by
2:27employers, job seekers, policy makers,
2:30academics, whoever is out there using
2:32our research and data. And that's really
2:34exciting, right? Hopefully helpful on
2:36the side and that's nice.
