Ho Chi Minh City to Start 13 Big Projects Worth Over $10 Billion

The city is celebrating the 50th anniversary of being named after President Ho Chi Minh. It will start 13 big projects worth over $10 billion. These include transport, infrastructure, and social housing projects.
The city's construction department said all projects will have a joint groundbreaking ceremony on July 2.
There are five transport projects worth over $6.5 billion.
These transport projects are the biggest part of the investment. They will help connect Ho Chi Minh City to nearby provinces.
The biggest project is the Can Gio - Vung Tau sea-crossing route, worth over $3.5 billion. It will be over 14 kilometers long and built between 2026 and 2029.
Another big project is the Ho Tram - Long Thanh International Airport expressway. It will be 42 kilometers long and have six lanes. The investment will be over $1.8 billion.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway will also start a new phase. The 51-kilometer route will have four lanes and cost over $878 million.
The Binh Tien Bridge and Road project will be 3.66 kilometers long. It includes a main bridge and parallel roads, and will cost over $241 million.
The interchange connecting Rung Sac Road with the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway will cost over $115 million.
There are waterfront and environmental projects worth $1.4 billion.
The Ben Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi Cultural Park and Saigon River waterfront project will cover over 162 hectares. It will cost over $1.15 billion.
Another project will improve the environment in Binh Duong. It includes a wastewater collection and pumping network worth over $276 million.
A big port project is valued at nearly $2 billion.
Construction will start on Phase 1 of Cai Mep Ha Port, a large maritime logistics project.
The port will cover 351.2 hectares and have 6.85 kilometers of wharves. It will handle up to 11 million containers per year.
The project will cost over $1.92 billion.
Five social housing projects will add over 8,800 homes.
These projects will address the growing need for housing among workers and low-income residents. They will cost over $184 million.
The Dinh Hoa Zones 3 and 4 project will have 4,368 apartments in 20-story buildings.
The Viet Sing Zones 2 and 7 project will add 1,861 apartments in 22-story buildings.
The Hoang Nam Uyen Hung 2 project will have 802 apartments on a 4.7-hectare site.
A social housing project in Long Truong Ward will have 764 apartments in eight-story buildings.
The Dong Thanh social housing complex will have 1,040 apartments in a 19-story tower.
These developments are one of the largest infrastructure and housing investment programs in Ho Chi Minh City. They will help connect the region, improve urban quality, and support long-term economic growth.
