Scottish Man Jailed for Spying

A Scottish man spied for Russia and was jailed for over eight years.
Ross David Cutmore admitted to spying for Russia and sharing Ukraine's military information for money. He worked as a military instructor in Ukraine since 2024.
The Ukrainian prosecutor said Cutmore did it for selfish reasons and to help the enemy.
Cutmore is now jailed for eight years and six months after admitting his guilt.

He stopped teaching and looked for easy money online.
Cutmore contacted a Russian spy and agreed to share military information for money.
The Ukrainian security service found that Cutmore shared Ukrainian unit locations and photos.
He collected data on Odesa facilities and discussed using explosives. He earned $6,000 for one task.
Cutmore had a pistol and cartridges, which he got and kept illegally.
Cutmore was caught in October 2025 and the prosecutors submitted an indictment in March the next year.
The UK is helping the detained Scottish man and is in contact with Ukraine.
