Vietnam Plans to Create a New City

On June 23, the authorities in Bac Ninh Province said they got the Politburo's decision about making Bac Ninh City a centrally governed city.
The decision was signed by Politburo member Tran Cam Tu on June 20.
The Politburo agreed to make Bac Ninh City using the whole province's area. This was decided after looking at a proposal from the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee.
The new city will be a model for a modern and civilized urban area with a strong economy and a protected environment. It will also keep the unique culture of the Kinh Bac region.
Bac Ninh City will be a major high-tech industrial center with a focus on electronics, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence.
The Politburo told the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee to work with other parties to finalize the proposal and submit it to the Party Central Committee.
The province must also complete the requirements to be recognized as a Class I urban area.
The city needs to develop its infrastructure, including roads, waterways, and smart urban systems. It also needs to connect with other major urban centers and logistics systems.
The authorities must ensure that the city develops in a balanced way and has a modern administration to support long-term growth.
The Politburo emphasized the need to maintain national defense, security, and social order while promoting cultural and social development.
The city's goal is to improve living standards and ensure that residents benefit from economic progress.
