Britain's Government is in Trouble

The British government has big problems, and Prime Minister Keir Starmer might lose his job.

This crisis started after his party lost many local elections. Important politicians left the government. The Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, left and said the Prime Minister didn’t have a plan for the country. He didn’t know what to do.

Wes Streeting wants to be the new leader and prime minister. Another politician also wants to challenge Starmer, but he needs to win a special election first.

This situation is a big problem for the European Union. The UK and EU were planning a new deal to help Britain sell food to Europe, but now it will be hard. British leaders are worried because an anti-EU party is getting popular. More than half of British voters want to be back in the EU. The UK and EU need to talk and make a deal.

Some words are hard to understand: resign means to leave your job, Health Secretary is the minister in charge of healthcare, challenge means to compete or question someone.
