Welcome to the Pips game guide from the New York Times.

Pips is a fun game that is like dominoes, but with a twist. It was released in August 2025.

If a space has no color, it means there are no rules for the tiles in that space.

Greater Than 13: The tiles in this space must be greater than 13. The answer is 0-5, placed side to side; 6-3, placed side to side; 5-1, placed up and down.

Greater Than 0: The tiles in this space must be greater than 0. The answer is 5-1, placed up and down.

Equal 2: The tiles in this space must be equal to 2. The answer is 2-2, placed up and down; 3-2, placed side to side; 2-1, placed side to side.

Less Than 2: The answer is 2-2, placed up and down; 3-2, placed side to side; 2-1, placed side to side.

Number 3: The tiles in this space must add up to 3. The answer is 1-4, placed up and down; 0-2, placed up and down.

Equal 0: The tiles in this space must be equal to 3. The answer is 0-0, placed side to side.

Greater Than 2: The tiles in this space must be greater than 2. The answer is 6-2, placed side to side.

Greater Than 0: The tiles in this space must be greater than 0. The answer is 2-2, placed side to side.

Equal 4: The tiles in this light blue space must be equal to 3. The answer is 1-4, placed up and down; 4-5, placed side to side.

Number 3: The tiles in this purple space must add up to 3. The answer is 6-2, placed side to side; 1-1, placed side to side.
