EasyJet Updates UK Travellers on Summer Flights and Holidays

EasyJet has given an update for UK travellers planning summer flights. People are making plans for warmer months.

However, there is uncertainty in the airline industry. This is due to jet fuel shortages caused by Iran's actions.

Lufthansa will cancel 20,000 flights. Experts think other airlines will also reduce flights.

The 'Ultimate Flexibility' policy lets customers change or cancel bookings up to 28 days before departure.

Kenton Jarvis, easyJet CEO, said customers can book with confidence. There will be no extra charges.

"We're launching our 'Book with Confidence Promise' so customers won't be charged more after booking."

Jet2, easyJet, and TUI won't charge extra for fuel price increases. Ryanair's CEO said 80% of its fuel supply is secured until March 2027.

Ryanair won't reduce flights despite extra fuel costs. The company might lose £37 million each month.

Eddie Wilson warned that other airlines might 'gouge' their schedules if prices stay high.

Wizz Air has also reassured customers. The airline is confident it will deliver a full schedule of flights.

"We have just launched our biggest-ever network from the UK," said Yvonne Moynihan, Wizz Air UK MD.

"For low-cost airlines like Wizz in the UK, we don't see any shortage of fuel."

"We can take more fuel than required in those destinations," she said.

"But we're not seeing an Armageddon situation. We have fuel supply."

A Jet2 spokesman said the airline remains in dialogue with fuel suppliers and sees no reason not to operate normally.

Airlines UK said UK airlines continue to operate normally and are not experiencing issues with jet fuel supply.
