VinFast to expand electric scooter business to 5 foreign markets

VinFast has unveiled its international business strategy for electric scooters, identifying five initial key markets: the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand and Malaysia.

🇻🇳 VinFast đã công bố chiến lược kinh doanh quốc tế đối với xe máy điện, xác định năm thị trường trọng điểm ban đầu gồm Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand và Malaysia.

This marks a significant milestone in VinFast’s global expansion strategy and demonstrates the company’s ambition to bring its comprehensive “Make in Vietnam” green mobility ecosystem to the region and the world, the company said on Jan. 31.

🇻🇳 Theo thông báo ngày 31/1, đây là cột mốc quan trọng trong chiến lược mở rộng toàn cầu của VinFast, thể hiện tham vọng đưa hệ sinh thái giao thông xanh toàn diện “Make in Vietnam” ra khu vực và thế giới.

Under the plan, it will roll out its electric scooter business in these five markets in 2026.

🇻🇳 Theo kế hoạch, VinFast sẽ triển khai hoạt động kinh doanh xe máy điện tại năm thị trường này từ năm 2026.

These countries are characterized by large populations, rapid urbanization, strong two-wheeler demand and mounting environmental pressures, making electric scooters a suitable solution for reducing emissions while offering cost-efficient urban mobility.

🇻🇳 Các quốc gia nói trên có đặc điểm chung là dân số lớn, tốc độ đô thị hóa nhanh, nhu cầu phương tiện hai bánh cao và áp lực môi trường ngày càng gia tăng. Những yếu tố này khiến xe máy điện trở thành giải pháp phù hợp, vừa góp phần giảm phát thải, vừa đáp ứng nhu cầu di chuyển đô thị với chi phí hợp lý.

The expansion model is designed to be flexible and operationally efficient, integrating dealer networks, after-sales services, financial solutions and energy infrastructure, including collaboration with V-Green for charging and battery-swapping systems.

🇻🇳 Mô hình mở rộng được VinFast thiết kế theo hướng linh hoạt và hiệu quả về vận hành, tích hợp mạng lưới đại lý, dịch vụ hậu mãi, các giải pháp tài chính và hạ tầng năng lượng. Trong đó, hãng hợp tác với V-Green để phát triển hệ thống sạc và đổi pin.

In recent years, VinFast has progressively built a green mobility ecosystem in the Philippines, Indonesia, India and other markets through cooperation with reputable local partners and strategic partners such as GSM, an all-electric taxi operator, and V-Green, a global charging-infrastructure developer.
