Easter Travel: 22 Million Journeys Expected in the UK

There will be long traffic jams on major roads like the M25, M6, and M5 as people visit family or go on holiday. The M25 near London, the M6 near Birmingham, and the M5 to the South West will be very busy. The AA says 21.7 million trips are planned for today, making it the busiest day of the four-day weekend. Train passengers will also face big problems due to engineering work and a six-day closure on part of the West Coast Main Line. Airports will be crowded with two million people flying abroad between Good Friday and Easter Monday. Strong winds of up to 90mph may cause more problems over the weekend, especially in Scotland, northern England, and Wales.
