easyJet has issued an alert to passengers travelling to Spain and France

easyJet issued an update last month, with over 100 airports affected. easyJet reminds holidaymakers that queue times may be impacted by new border checks. easyJet said airports across Europe may experience longer waiting times at passport control due to the new European Entry/Exit System. This could mean you need to have your biometrics taken at border checks

Travellers heading to the EU are advised to download the easyJet app for live updates. easyJet is also urging these passengers to ensure they have all necessary travel documents

easyJet said: "Please also allow extra time to make your way through the airport on your return trip". The travel operator added that the EU is rolling out a mobile app to support pre-registration for EES

The EES covers 29 countries including Austria, Belgium, and France

While Greece is included in the EES, Brits will be exempt from biometric registration on arrival in Greece
