Dollar Value Increases Against Vietnamese Dong

Vietcombank sold US dollars for 26,461 Vietnamese dong, which is 0.03% more than before. The value of the US dollar went down by 0.56% on the black market to around 26,720 Vietnamese dong.

The State Bank of Vietnam decreased its reference rate by 0.02% to 25,201 Vietnamese dong.

The US dollar had some problems on Monday, but it is still on track to have its biggest monthly gain in almost a year. This is because of tension in the Gulf and upcoming jobs data that could affect the Federal Reserve's interest rate decisions.

The dollar index, which compares the US dollar to other currencies like the yen and euro, was slightly higher at 101.36. It is on track to have a 2.5% gain for June, which is its biggest monthly increase since July last year.

The euro did not change much at $1.1387 after reaching a 13-month low against the US dollar last week. It is expected to have a 2.3% monthly decline. The British pound was 0.1% lower at $1.3198 and is down 2% for the month.

The Japanese yen was last traded at 161.75, which is near a 40-year low.

Joseph Capurso, head of foreign exchange at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, said, 'We expect the US dollar to increase in value over the coming weeks because of the idea that the US economy is doing better than others.'

A strong labor market with improving conditions is likely to lead to higher US interest rates and a stronger US dollar, according to Joseph Capurso.
