Southeast Asia's Largest Airport Closes Terminal Balcony After Two Tourist Deaths

Two incidents happened on May 1 and police do not think they are connected.

A 27-year-old Chinese woman and a 30-year-old Algerian man fell from the third floor.

Both cases are called sudden deaths and are still being investigated.

The airport is still working normally with many passengers.

Terminal 2 is 2 km from the main terminal and has 68 gates and many shops. It is open 24 hours and has buses and trains to other parts of the airport.

Kuala Lumpur airport is the largest in Southeast Asia, covering over 100 square kilometers. It had 16.9 million passengers in the first quarter of 2026, 14.4% more than last year. This increase is due to holiday travel and more flights.
