0:15Disney feel through this really  powerful harnessing of nostalgia.
0:19Nintendo's expansion beyond games and  consoles is nothing new. They tried  
0:23it in 1993 with the Super Mario Bros.  movie, which failed at the box office  
0:27after it took far too many departures from  the source material, disappointing fans.
0:32But Nintendo's more recent moves have  been more successful, leveraging the  
0:36strong sentiment for their characters  into a successful business enterprise.
0:40We now have theme parks like Super Mario World in  which you get all of these recognizable features  
0:45from the games in real life and sort of fostering  both nostalgia and that first sort of sense of  
0:50wonder that young children get with seeing  these things on the screen at the first time.
0:55Nintendo at its core will  always be a video game company,  
0:58but I think that their IP monetization  strategy has probably just started.
1:03But how long can Nintendo maintain  interest in its characters?
1:07At some point in time, people could grow tired of  
1:11uh the same IPs that Nintendo  produces games around.
1:16So Nintendo, I think, at some point has to come up  with new IPs, new ideas in terms of characters and  
1:22in terms of new worlds, because there's a certain  risk that things might become a little bit stale.
