DJ Koo has opted to forgo the share of assets designated for him, while Wang and Hsu’s family are close to finalizing their discussions.
In the wake of Hsu’s abrupt death in Japan, several legal disputes arose between Wang and her family. Earlier this year, reports indicated that both sides agreed to revisit disagreements concerning child support payments and sought mediation.

Subsequent media reports indicated that Wang and Hsu’s family had struck a deal and are awaiting an official signing. Sources mentioned that DJ Koo is willing to forfeit his personal portion of the inheritance specified in Hsu’s will.
Previously, it was thought that Hsu’s estate was to be divided into three segments, with one portion set aside for DJ Koo and the other two dedicated to her son and daughter with Wang Xiaofei. With DJ Koo renouncing his share, her two offspring are expected to receive the entirety of the estate. Until they reach 18, the assets will be overseen by their legal guardian Wang.
Hsu passed away on February 2, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan, at the age of 48. Her family stated that she succumbed to pneumonia arising from influenza complications while traveling during the Lunar New Year break.
She was a prominent figure in Taiwanese and Asian entertainment, best recognized for her portrayal of Shan Cai in the television series Meteor Garden (2001). The show's popularity significantly contributed to her identity as a pop culture icon in the early 2000s.
