A third of people over 45 have never danced properly and feel too old

A study found that 29% of people over 45 have never really danced to music. 31% of those who have danced said it was at least five years ago.
People over 45 said they don't dance because they don't have the chance or a comfortable place to do it.
Kellogg's did this study and is having a dance party for people over 50.

As people get older, it's more important to do things that make them happy and active.

People over 45 are more likely to say they've never danced than younger people. Only 17% of 25-34 year olds said this.
Men are more likely than women to say they've never danced.
Some people don't dance because they feel self-conscious or have physical problems. Others just feel too old.
Many people say dancing makes them feel happy and free.
For many adults, getting healthier is the main reason to be more active.
There's a free dance event for people over 50 on April 18th at 9am.
Helen Potter from Kellogg's said you don't have to dance at night. Small daily habits can make a big difference.
She said starting the day with breakfast and some movement can be very good for you.
The goal is to show that mornings can be fun and energetic at any age.
