Jet2 enforces baggage rule for passengers flying with young children

Jet2 has confirmed its baggage rules for passengers with young children - and knowing the tip in advance can help make travel easier for families. While customers might already know the airline offers an extra luggage allowance for passengers with infants, Jet2 also has a pushchair policy designed to help parents as they travel through the airport.
As Jet2 explained in a social media message, parents don't need to drop off their pushchair at the airport's bag drop. Instead, families travelling with a collapsible buggy can use it until they reach the air bridge or steps to board their flight.
The airline confirmed its policy after a customer contacted @Jet2tweets on X. Sharing her question, a parent named Tracy wrote: "We're flying with Jet2 next month with our one year old son.
"We're bringing the doona pram with us as one of our baby items. Will we be able to use it up until the boarding gate then have it put in hold or will we need to hand it over at the baggage drop? Thanks."
Replying to the question, a Jet2 team member named Josh said: "Hi Tracy, thanks for getting in touch. You are able to use this all the way up until the plane."
Parents can find more information about Jet2's policy on the airline's website. According to Jet2's FAQ section, passengers with an infant under two years old receive an extra 10kg allowance for their accompanying adult’s 22kg hold bag.
Parents can also take two items of equipment per child to be carried in the hold free of charge if they're travelling with a collapsible pushchair, car seat, baby back carrier or travel cot. Customers can keep their child's pushchair with them until boarding.
Jet2 explained: "For your convenience, you can take your collapsible pushchair/buggy all the way to the plane steps/air bridge, where we’ll put it in the hold and you can get it back at baggage reclaim."

Customers should note that Jet2 asks passengers to inform them if they're travelling with more than one item. It said: "If you’re carrying more than one of these items, please let us know so we can advise our local agents in resort to make sure the transfer you’ve booked will accommodate them. On occasion, you may need to change to a private transfer at an extra cost."
Weight limits also apply to these items. The guidance on the airline's website explains: "Each item must weigh no more than 32kg, and any extra items (or weight beyond your allowance) will be charged as standard excess baggage."
