Vietnam Suggests 'Two Countries, One Destination' Plan to Thai Leader

On June 9, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul met with Vietnamese tourism leaders during his visit to Vietnam.

Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of Sun Group, talked about his company's main businesses, including hotels, entertainment, and real estate, during a private meeting with the Thai PM.

Truong proposed working together with Thailand on several key projects.

One idea was to create a 'Two Countries, One Destination' plan, connecting famous places in both countries like Phu Quoc and Phuket.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways will add new flights from Phu Quoc, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City to Phuket and other cities. This will help tourists visit both countries easily, using Phu Quoc's visa-free policy.

Truong hopes Thailand will help with flight schedules and promote both countries as one tourism destination.

Phu Quoc had 1.17 million foreign visitors in the first five months, a 51% increase, and more than half of this year's goal.
