Girl, 17, raped as busy canal cordoned off and two charged over attack
Police said the girl was attacked in the Rowleys Green area of Coventry, West Midlands, on March 15. A 17-year-old boy has since been charged with rape and an 18-year-old boy has been charged with sexual assault in relation to the girl, West Midlands Police said. Part of Longford Canal remains cordoned off while officers continue conducting enquiries.
The force told Coventry Live: "We have charged two teenagers after a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and raped in the Rowleys Green area of Coventry on March 15. An 18-year-old boy has been charged with sexual assault and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with rape. Both are next due to appear at Warwick Crown Court on April 15."
