Labour MP Backs Andy Burnham to Return to Westminster

Andy Burnham, who was not allowed by Starmer to run in the Gorton and Denton by-election, might take control of the party. Labour MP Paula Barker said she would be happy if Burnham returned to Westminster and called for Starmer to resign.
Ms Barker said she would be happy if a seat could be found for Andy Burnham. When asked if she would give up her seat, she said no. She hopes someone else will give up their seat for him.
The DWP will give £200 to state pensioners under 80 automatically.

Sally Jameson, a PPS in the Home Office, said she thinks the prime minister should set out a clear timetable for his departure in September or shortly after.
