Hobart's Princes Wharf is busy. Dark Mofo's Winter Feast is coming. Many people are working to get everything ready.

Tasmania's winter arts and music festival starts today. The first Winter Feast banquet is tonight.

The festival has big parties and art shows. It is run by the Museum of Old and New Art.

Winter Feast is back this year.

Over 55,000 tickets have been sold. Some events, like Night Mass, are sold out.

Hobart's Lord Mayor says Dark Mofo brings excitement and money to the city. It is worth about $31 million.

Possum is on the menu at Winter Feast

Over 100,000 people will come to Winter Feast. It runs on Thursdays to Sundays.

Two chefs will cook at Winter Feast. They will make Italian food and other dishes.

The combination of art and food is important.

Hobart's Lord Mayor and two chefs are at Winter Feast.

There will be 74 other food stalls. 40% are new this year.

The main thing is to keep it new and fresh every year. We want to help Tasmanian businesses.

Free events are available

Many events cost money, but some are free. Dark Mofo has a free public art program.

We try to have a mix of free and paid events.

Winter Feast is free after 9pm and for kids. Otherwise, it costs $12 to $24.

The city council gives $200,000 to Dark Mofo each year.
