GoPro's New Mission 1 Pro Camera

I reviewed the GoPro Hero12 and Hero13 Black. They were impressive, but had small upgrades. Both had the same GP2 processor and 1/1.9 inch CMOS sensor as the Hero11.

This year, GoPro is introducing a new line of cameras, the Mission 1 Series. This line has new features and abilities.

I've started testing the Mission 1 Pro and I'm impressed so far. I'm excited to try its limits.

The new Mission 1 cameras solve some problems, but not all.

The Mission 1 and Mission 1 Pro launch on May 28 for $599.99 and $699.99. The Mission 1 Pro ILS will launch in Q3 with a price of $699.99.

The Mission 1 and Mission 1 Pro have a new GP3 processor and a larger one-inch sensor. The Mission 1 Pro also has 960fps slow motion video and 8K open-gate recording.

Both cameras are larger and heavier than the Hero13 Black, but still feel like action cameras.

The Mission 1 is available May 28 for $599 or $499 for GoPro subscribers.

GoPro is introducing new accessories, including a wireless mic kit and a point-and-shoot grip.

The Mission 1 Series was designed for professionals and creators. It offers a new 240Mbps high bit-rate mode.

The cameras offer a new 240Mbps high bit-rate mode and recommended LUTs for video editing.

The GoPro Hero and MAX cameras are enough for most people.

The Mission 1 Pro seems impressive for pros and creators. It competes with Sony vlogging cameras and BlackMagic cinema cameras.

The ability to shoot open-gate video in 8K and 4K will be a game-changer. The larger sensor gives more flexibility.

The Mission 1's larger sensor gives more flexibility. You can switch between different fields of view.

You can switch between 16:9 and vertical video aspect ratios. The larger sensor and open-gate capture give a richer canvas.

The new GoPro cameras have improved low-light performance. They also have better motion stabilization and horizon lock.

The name 'GoPro' is still synonymous with action cameras, but other companies like DJI and Insta360 have introduced impressive action cameras.

The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 and DJI Osmo Action 6 Pro offer better specs in some regards.

DJI has become popular with Mashable shoppers. I've had great experiences with DJI products.

While the Mission 1 Pro offers a boundary-pushing option, GoPro still has work to do for everyday consumers.

GoPro seems to be catering to its most hardcore customers.

If you're a long-time GoPro fan, the Mission 1 and Mission 1 Pro have a lot to offer.

The Mission 1 Pro is expensive, but a great price for a cinematic camera.
