A prominent US travel magazine has curated a list of seven extraordinary destinations in Southeast Asia, inviting travelers to venture beyond the usual tourist spots and immerse themselves in the local culture.

Bai Tu Long Bay, situated near the renowned Ha Long Bay, has secured the third position on this prestigious list, boasting an enchanting landscape of limestone islands, caves, and floating villages that exude a sense of serenity and seclusion.

The bay offers a wide range of activities, including kayaking, swimming in the vibrant emerald waters, and guided eco-tours that delve into the natural wonders of Bai Tu Long National Park, as well as multi-day excursions that provide a glimpse into the daily lives of the local fishing communities.

The list of Southeast Asia's 7 wonders also features other breathtaking destinations, such as Indonesia's Raja Ampat archipelago, Thailand's Doi Inthanon National Park, Laos' Bolaven Plateau, Malaysia's George Town, Cambodia's Phnom Kulen National Park, and the Philippines' picturesque Batanes province.

To capitalize on the bay's potential, local authorities have approved 10 distinct itineraries within Bai Tu Long and three more that connect it to Ha Long Bay, with some of these routes officially launching last March.

Travelers can unwind on the pristine beaches of popular islands like Quan Lan and Minh Chau, or venture off the beaten path to discover hidden gems like Phat Co Island, home to one of the bay's largest caves.

For the more adventurous, activities like swimming, kayaking, and seaweed cultivation are available, while those seeking relaxation can bask on the tranquil beaches and breathe in the fresh sea air.
